Chipmunks are small furry rodents that look similar to squirrels. All but one species of chipmunks live in North America, the other, the siberian chipmunk, makes its home in northeast Asia. Chipmunks are mammals and they usually live two to three years in the wild. They are about the size of a tea cup, or bigger and they usually weigh 1-5 ounces. They have poofy tails and stripes along their back and face. They are often reddish-brown or gray and have fat cheeks.
